TTL Loupes FAQ

Production for custom loupes can range anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks. The specific production time for your loupes is shown on the product page when you are placing your order but generally: Traditional TTL and Flip-Up Loupes: 1-2 weeks ErgoPrism Loupes: 4-6 weeks

Depending on what needs to be repaired, your loupes will take anywhere between 2-4 weeks to be returned to you upon receipt. For students and faculty, we do offer a "Loaner Loupes" option. Please ask one of our talented Solutions Team member will walk you through the process!

Your magnification level will be unique to you and you alone, but there are a few guidelines you can follow to find a power that works for you. Loupes can vary from 2.5x-8.0x, and the learning curve will become more challenging as the magnification level increases. Of course, the higher the magnification the more detail you will see. For first-timers, dental hygiene examinations, preventive care, and other general oral procedures, a lower loupe magnification from 2.3x to 3.5x will often be sufficient. If your working distance (WD) is 15” or less, choosing a 2.5x for your first pair of loupes will work just fine. Yes! We recommend using Ease-In-Shields. They are simple, comprehensive, easy, and work effectively with your loupes and prescriptive eyewear.

Yes! Not only do they improve your work and the speed at which you can complete it, they also help to reduce strain on the eyes, and encourage better focus and hand-eye coordination. No. There is no evidence that loupes weaken eyesight. When used properly, loupes should not have any negative effects on your eyes.

No, not all loupes are created equal. Each magnification will vary depending on the brand. Some may be the same, or similar, but there's no guarantee that the magnifications will match from one brand to another perfectly.

The process is actually very simple! After placing your order, we'll send you an ErgoFit Kit to collect what we need.
